The Board of Directors or Management Committee has the legal responsibility for the activities of their organisation and if things go wrong they are held responsible.
This responsibility brings out the importance of training and coaching so that the committee members are clear on their roles and responsibilities and how they may most effectively serve and guide the organisation. If the board keeps its finger on the pulse of the organisation it will be able to recognise when things start to go wrong and make necessary corrections.
I have worked with a number of management committees over the years in helping them to recognise their roles and responsibilities and plan strategically for the organisation.
