MANAGEMENT SUPPORT
Project Managers have to be good at multi-tasking, especially if they manage a small voluntary or community organisation.

The Managers are responsible for the operation of the project which may include: managing and recruiting staff and volunteers; obtaining and managing funding; establishing relevant processes and practices; keeping the Board informed and carrying out its requirements; networking; writing reports; providing monitoring as required; and much more besides, which may include delivering services as well.

Consequently the Project Manager needs to be able to access appropriate training and support and not be over-burdened with non-essential or low priority duties and demands. The Chair and members of the Management Committee should provide some of the support and encouragement. The Manager may also wish to meet with other colleagues for peer support or seek the support of a mentor.

I am able to provide mentoring support to the Project Manager, help them with developing and updating their policies and practices, and share with them good practice, including supporting the organisation through a relevant quality standard.
